About Us

ReWear 360 exists because “waste” isn’t waste when it can still restore dignity. We make it easy for Canberra households and organisations to donate quality textiles—then we do the hard part: sorting, rehoming, and responsibly diverting what can’t be reworn.

Our Story

Why we started

We saw two problems happening at the same time:

  1. Good clothing being thrown away because people didn’t know what else to do with it.
  2. Individuals, families and communities needing practical support, right now—not later.

ReWear 360 was created to connect those dots, building a local system where pre-loved textiles become care, dignity, and opportunity—and where we can measure the impact, not just talk about it.

What “360” means

Why ReWear “360”?

Because we look at the full cycle—collection, sorting, rewear, reuse, and recycling—so each item gets the best possible next life.

Values:

  • Dignity first – people matter more than stuff
  • Reuse before recycle – keep value in the community
  • Transparency – track impact in kilograms
  • Respect – for donors, partners, and recipients
  • Local strength – Canberra community-led action

Where Your Donation Goes

Your donation may support:

Canberra Communities:

  • University students
  • Migrant and newly arrived communities
  • Local groups needing access to free clothing and textiles

We also donate excess suitable items to other trusted Canberra recycling and reuse initiatives, strengthening the local circular economy rather than competing with it.

Ethical Reuse Partners (Including the Pacific)

Some textiles are made available to carefully selected social enterprises, including partners in the Pacific, at affordable, low prices.

This allows them to:

  • Support their families
  • Build local livelihoods
  • Choose only what they need

We do not send unsorted clothing.
We do not export waste.
We do not pass on items that wouldn’t be received with dignity. This approach comes from real experience — and a firm commitment to avoid creating landfill or social harm elsewhere.

Dignity Comes First — Always

Not everything donated is suitable for reuse.

That’s why we:

  • Sort every donation manually
  • Refuse to pass on damaged or undignified items
  • Avoid overloading communities with unwanted textiles

If an item can’t be reused with dignity, it won’t be passed on.

It will be recycled responsibly instead.

This is a core principle of ReWear 360.
